Playing with the fall leaves

If you are in the forest in the fall when the laves are falling create your activities around that.

Dancing in the leaves.
Have the children kicking, throwing and dancing in the leaves, creating a cloud of falling leaves around you to feel how light they are.

Jumping in the leaves.
Have the children collect a big pile of leaves to jump in.
When you have the children jump into the leaves, they will notice it is soft and you can bring the attention to the amount of air trapped between the light leaves like in a duvet.

Sleeping in the leaves.
Have the children crawl into the pile and feel how warm it is in there. You've just established that the pile works like a duvet, so talk about all off the animals, like frogs and hedgehogs, who use it as such and hibernates in them all winter.
