Group: Small groups
Materials: You can use your regular arts and crafts materials, or you can go outside and pick things you would like to use
In my practice the kids where learnin about different kinds of food one of the weeks. At the task time one of the table groups assignments were to think of their favorite dinner, and then try to make it out of the arts and crafts materials they had.
So they had to cut out pieces of fabric in the color they thought looked like the bottom of a pizza for example. Then they found some yellow paper and cut in small pieces to look like shredded cheese. And in the end some of them took some red fabric and cut in circle pieces to look like peproni.
I think this was a very fun assignment, and they made a lot of nice plates of food.
A way to make this using nature is to have the kids go outside first and pick different things they find outside that can look like the food they want to eat. Like they can use a small stick of some sort to make a sausage, a yellow flower to make cheese and so on.
